Boksburg North resident still in coma following attack

A Boksburg North resident is still in hospital, in a coma, after a vicious attack which left him for dead in the early hours of March 5.

The Advertiser reported in March that Leon Scholtz (43) was found lying in a pool of blood, beside his car, outside Top Shots, in Trichardts Road.

His condition was confirmed by his mother, Petro, to the Advertiser this morning (April 11).

“He is not doing well and he has lost a lot weight. He gets nourishment through the tube directly into the stomach,” said Petro.

The investigation is still ongoing and no one has been arrested yet.

Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Juanita Coetzer said police are investigating a case of assault, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She appealed to any witnesses to come forward and to contact the detective branch on 011 306 0000, using reference number 107.
