EMPD spokesman Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago said the metro police confiscated the drugs weighing a whopping 1.5kg, estimated to be worth R2 million in the streets.
Cash amounting to more than R8000 was also confiscated.
“Acting on intelligence received from members of South African Police Service, the metro police pounced on a house at the corner of 2nd Street and 13th Avenue in Boksburg.
“A lone 29-year-old man was found in an outside room where he is tenant.
“On searching a bag found on the bed in the room, the metro police found eight bags laden with cocaine and seventeen with the drug cat.
“The combined mass of the drugs amounted to 1.5kgs,” said Kgasago.
The arrested suspect was charged with dealing in illicit substances at Boksburg North police station.
He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
