On Saturday, April 2, the needy residents woke up to a healthy breakfast as they were served soup and bread.
The church members started the initiative in Sky Street and then proceeded to Blue Sky.
In Sky Street, 300 cups of soup and bread were served to the needy and in Blue Sky about 200 portions were provided.
According to Louis van der Merwe, it was the first time their church had conducted a feeding scheme in Sky Street and Blue Sky, as they normally confine these efforts to Witfield.
“We saw a need to go outside Witfield and to feed other people in disadvantaged areas; we will continue with this initiative to feed the less fortunate,” van der Merwe said.
