Woman robbed in driveway, struck over the head with pistol

A woman was struck on the head with a pistol and robbed outside her home this morning, February 8.

This is after she was followed home from the K90 Centre where she drew an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS communication officer, Lieut Juanita Coetzer, the woman was accosted by the suspects as soon as she stopped at her gate in Eros Street, Beyers Park.

Two suspects, one armed, pulled her out of her vehicle and the third suspect waited in the getaway vehicle.

“The woman was beaten and hit with a pistol over the head,” said Coetzer.

The suspects fled with her jewelry, handbag, and car keys.

“Luckily the money that she had drawn was not in the handbag,” said Coetzer.

The victim was left traumatised and sustained minor injuries and bruises.

A case of armed robbery has been filed with the Boksburg North SAPS.

Coetzer appeals on everyone to be more vigilant after drawing money.

* According to Coetzer, it was the third time this year that this residence has been a target of crime.

The home owner told the Advertiser on a previous incident that his house has been robbed numerous times before.
