Brogan’s mother shattered by his death

The thought of coming home to find your son's blood on the floor of the house is undoubtedly devastating to every mother.

This is the feeling experienced by Goedeburg resident Xavier Mahony.

Her son, Brogan Mahony, died from a gunshot wound on December 8, after a single shot was fired to his head while he was in the family’s house.

“This is a terrible tragedy, I’m devastated; no mother expects to come home and find her son’s blood on the house floor,” said Xavier.

She added that her son was at home with his unnamed friend when the incident occurred.

“He [the friend] put Brogan in the car and drove him to Life The Glynnwood Hospital, but he was apparently already dead on arrival,” said Xavier.

She explained that she doesn’t know exactly what happened and that the police are investigating the incident.

In December 2013, Brogan was left brain damaged after being brutally attacked and left unconscious on Commissioner Street, Boksburg, next to Absa.
