No arrests yet in killing of three Boksburg residents

No arrests have yet been made in the murders of three Boksburg people who were killed in separate incidents in their homes last week.

Both Boksburg and Boksburg North SAPS have confirmed they were still hunting the trio’s killers, adding that the police are committed to ensuring that a thorough investigation is conducted into these recent horrific crimes.

In the first incident, a 74-year-old woman was found brutally murdered in her house in Langenhoven Street, Parkrand, on November 20.

Her bloodied body was found lying in her garage, buried under heavy objects, including a steel structure and a wooden bridge.

It became apparent that the woman, who was staying alone, was brutally attacked, as she suffered two stab wounds to the left of her neck and one stab wound to her waist.

Boksburg SAPS spokesperson Lieut Kwendzakwakhe Ngobese said the traces of blood found on the dining room floor indicated that the deceased was dragged to the garage after she was stabbed.

It is believed that the attackers forced their way into the home to steal valuable items.

A case of murder was opened.

In the second killing, a 75-year-old man was killed in front of his wife in their house in Goldband Street, Lillianton, on November 19.

The elderly woman was uninjured, but was left severely traumatised.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS communication officer, Lieut Juanita Coetzer, the police received information from 10111 about an abandoned vehicle in Delmore Gardens.

“Upon investigation, the owner of the vehicle proved to be of a resident living in Goldband Street,” she said.

Police visited the specific address to confirm whether the owner of the vehicle still resides there.

On arrival they found the garage door opened.

“They heard someone shouting for help and they went inside the house to find an elderly couple in one room, tied up with cable ties, and covered with a blanket.”

The police untied the woman, who was still alive, and the medics were summoned to the scene. However, upon arrival the man was declared dead.

The man suffered multiple wounds to his head, and police are investigating a case of murder and house robbery.

In the third killing that has rocked Boksburg, a middle-aged woman was gunned down in her house in Blue Sky, near Cason, on Thursday, November 19.

According to Ngobese, police received a complaint about a woman who had been attacked by a gunman at about 6pm.

She was hit by three bullets and the cartridges were all found at the scene.

“The motive for the brutal killing is still unknown and nothing was stolen from the victim’s house. There are no arrests in either of the homicides.”

Police strongly condemned the barbaric attack, and have urged anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone with information in this regard is urged to contact the Boksburg police on 011 841 6859.
