Metro continues to urge consumers to use water sparingly

The Ekurhuleni Metro continues to closely monitor water levels at its reservoirs in an effort to ensure that all areas are supplied with water.

According to Themba Gadebe, spokesperson for the metro, said water restrictions will be implemented from 10pm to 3am in areas where the metro needs to stabilise levels in reservoirs.

“This will be informed by the constant monitoring which is currently taking place,” said Gadebe.

He said parts of Germiston still do not have any water supply including Dawnview, Gerdview and Marlands.

“Areas supplied from the Primrose Reservoir may experience low pressure or no water at all.

“Water supply has been reinstated to Bedfordview, however, some areas may experience low water pressure. Water is, however, still being supplied in Jojo tanks,” said Gadebe.

“Meanwhile, the situation in Kempton Park is stable with the exception of parts of the Isando Industrial area. A water tanker has been arranged to supply the area with no water.

“The Metro has implemented a minor drop in water pressure in some areas to ensure a stable water supply.”
