Suspected dealer caught with Cat

EMPD Intervention Unit members arrested a suspected drug dealer in Boksburg North, at around 10.30am, on Friday, October 30.

According to EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, the man was found in possession of the drug Cat.

“Metro police members spotted a man walking around aimlessly at the corner of Graaf Avenue and Rietfontein Road, in Boksburg North,” he said.

“The man kept on looking around nervously and, on being approached, he tried to bolt, but was no match for the officers.

“Cat, in rock form and valued at around R2 000, wrapped in a transparent plastic bag, was located on the suspect’s person, stashed in his groin area.

“The Nigerian national was charged at Boksburg North SAPS, with possession of an illicit substance.”

He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrates Court on Monday, November 2.
