Ekurhuleni Junior Speaker wishes matrics well

Sikhanyisiwe Claire Pondwa, Junior Speaker, City of Ekurhuleni, writes:

Education can be defined as the wealth of knowledge acquired, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, preparing oneself for a better tomorrow.

I am currently in Grade 10, and I always look at myself from where it all started in Grade R. The very first day when I told myself I am going to school to learn.

The excitement of meeting new people, the fear of being without your guardian, but with your enquiring mind and heart saying: “I want to know more”.

The time has now come for your academic knowledge to be put to the test. Now, since you have the priceless knowledge you need up to your respective grades, prove to yourself that you can progress to the next level.

Tell yourself: ”I am going to work hard to pass”; not passing for a friend, sister, or parents, but keeping in mind that good grades are life’s way of saying there is a bright future in store for you.

There is a phrase that says: ”With God all things are possible”, therefore, hold on.

Exam stress is tough, I know, but believe you me, when you think of the stress 10 years from now, you will roll with laughter as it seems so insignificant.

So why fret?

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all success in your exams. Have peace of mind, as you have studied well.

The peace and the calmness will help you to remember everything that you have studied. A special mention to the matriculants: hang in there, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

To all students: may you be blessed as you progress to another year.
