In September, this year, this Advertiser ran a story about the road sign wrongly positioned on the off-ramp, confusing drivers.
The sign at the major off-ramp in Farrar Park was pointing left instead of right – telling drivers to turn left into Rondebult Road if they wanted to go to Sunward Park Hospital.
Concerning the confusing ”turn left” sign, this paper also approached Sanral’s Zenzele Bam, who admitted that Sanral’s maintenance teams bungled the road sign at the off-ramp, but promised that the mistake would be urgently attended to.
The agency kept its word and moved the incorrect sign back onto the freeway, to indicate that off-ramp 136 is for the police station and the hospital.
A new sign correctly indicating directions to the police station and hospital was then installed on Rondebult Road, replacing the wrong sign. -@FanieFLK
