According to an article published in the Advertiser on October 23, last year, plans were reportedly already in place for a Gautrain route extension, with a link from the Gautrain Rhodesfield Station to Boksburg North being proposed.
The new route in Boksburg is scheduled to run via the East Rand Mall.
The Gautrain Management Agency has now responded that is still busy with feasibility study for the proposed extensions and one of the purposes of this study is to determine the preferred routes that should be developed.
According to the agency, it has been envisaged that the results of this study will be available during 2016.
