Terrier given chance to live; now he’s looking for home

A loving terrier was given another chance to live after someone apparently attacked him with a panga.

About two weeks ago, this young stray came into the Boksburg SPCA with the most horrendous leg injury.

It is assumed that the 10-month-old’s front left leg was struck by a panga.

“The bone was really exposed and already infected,” said manager Maggie Mudd.

“The dog was, apart from the leg injury, healthy was so happy to be with people who were taking an interest in him.”

SPCA staff members had to react immediately as the leg could not be saved and a decision was taken to amputate it.

“We are very happy to say that he sailed through the operation and is now quickly recovering,” said Mudd.

Now named Chanceux (pronounced chan-soo), which means ”lucky” in French, he is longing to be homed with a loving family.

Chanceux is a fun, medium-sized terrier, with a loving personality.
