Lollie marks her 60th birthday with spark and style
A Cason woman with Down Syndrome, Lollie Anderson, celebrated her 60th birthday during a special ceremony at her home on Wednesday morning, July 1.
The celebration was, however, held a few months before her actual birthday on October 13.
Anderson’s family surprised her with a live music performance by various artists signed to Vonk Music.
Artists from the Boksburg North-based record label performed several songs for Anderson and her family, as well as her close circle of friends and dozens of neighbours, who came to wish her a happy birthday.
Anderson has been living in Boksburg for the past 20 years, in the care of her niece, Mari Russell, who also runs a crèche at the family’s house in Cason.
“I love my aunt. She is such a blessing to us,” said Russell.
Anderson spend most of her time playing with her dolls, having conversations with them while bathing and dressing them, mostly for church on Sundays. – @FanieFLK
