Impala Park resident tied up during armed robbery, one caught

A resident of Impala Park was tied up during a robbery at his house on June1.

Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Lieut Juanita Coetzer said the three men entered the man’s house and overpowered him before tying him up.

Police suspect that the three men gained accesses into the property by jumping the gate.

“They grabbed a few electrical items from the house,” said Coetzer.

It is believed the that the trio attempted to steal the victim’s bakkie, however, its alarm went off.

The men then abandoned their mission, loaded the loot into their black Mercedes Benz and drove away from the scene.

One of the victim’s neighbours noticed what was happening and phoned Saber Tactical Security.

Together with the EMPD, Saber followed the suspect to Etwatwa near Daveyton where the driver of the Benz was arrested.

Police are still searching for his accomplices and it’s unclear if the items have been recovered.

ER24 treated the victim for shock at the scene.
