Preliminary investigation reveals that she was violently attacked and may have been raped.
According to Lieut Kwendzakwakhe Ngobese from Boksburg SAPS, the woman was seen with her friends at a tavern on Saturday afternoon, before she had gone missing.
“Her body was then found in the field nearby the tavern – about 50m away from Main Reef Road,” said Ngobese.
Ngobese said that her head had been smashed in, apparently with a brick (which was found on the scene).
Police are still gathering information.
They are appealing for any information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators or perpetrator. Witnesses may phone the investigating officer Det Sgt Oupa Mashego on 079 071 0001/011 841 6859. – @FanieFLK
