Mrs SA finalist educates children on drug abuse

Mrs South Africa 2015 finalist Jacqui Fernandez, from Boksburg, spent a day at the Urban Ruins NPO, where she gave the children a talk on how to say no to drugs and how bad drugs are for you.

This special day was held on June 13 and formed part of her drive to educate young children on awareness of drug abuse.

Fernandez arranged for three recovered drug addicts (Lydon Esof, Goldene Uekerman and TK Mabena), who are still in treatment, to share their stories with the children.

They also composed their own rap song and got the children involved by teaching them the song.

“I would love to give the Urban Ruins credit, as they are doing a wonderful job,” said Fernandez.

She encourages the community to help the Urban Ruins organisation in any way they can.
