Cigarettes and alcohol worth thousands stolen

The following crimes were reported to the Boksburg SAPS from June 13 to 17:

Business robbery

Cigarettes, alcohol and cash were stolen in an armed robbery.

A gang of three armed men and a woman stole cigarette and alcohol worth thousands from the liquor store at the corner of Trichardts and Cason roads.

According to the police, the four robbers walked into the store at about 5.30pm and threatened staff with firearms, while ordering them to lie on the ground, on Saturday, June 13.

They then made off with the staff’s cellphones, cigarettes, alcohol and cash from the tills.

House robberies

* Boksburg police are investigating an armed robbery in a driveway on Pohl Street, Parkrand, on Youth Day (June 16).

The complainant told the police that he was driving in the driveway when two thugs pointed firearms at him and her daughter, while ordering them to get out of the vehicle and lie down on the ground.

The gunmen then took the victims’ cellphones and the wallet. There was R1 000 inside the wallet.

* Also on June 16, armed robbers held up a woman while she was sitting in her car waiting for her parents to open the gate for her, in Pohl Street, Parkrand.

She told the police that a man approached and pointed a firearm at her, while demanding her cellphone.

All of a sudden, a white BMW pulled over next to her car, and a second man got out of the BMW and also pointed a firearm at her.

When the woman’s father emerged from the house, both gunmen jumped into the BMW and sped away.

The stolen cellphone is worth R11 000.

* Robbers forced their way into a house at Piazza Del Compo, Van Wyk Louw Drive, and stole R504 000 worth of goods.

According to the police, the complainant – a woman – woke up to find an intruder pointing a firearm at her, while two others were looting.

They took jewellery and electrical appliances.

They then loaded the goods into the woman’s Mercedes Benz, and used it to make their getaway.

The car was found abandoned on a street in Delmore, hours later.
