Ackerman’s adds some cheer to New Beginnings

Ackermans recently donated close to R20 000 worth of gift hampers to children staying at the New Beginnings Care Centre.

Divisional sales manager for the East Rand region of Ackermans, Robin Vermeulen, believes in the power of giving and making children happy.

“As winter is slowly creeping in, we want to help the children with clothing hampers and also blankets,” he said.

“We are also assisting New Beginnings with repainting and refurbishing the children’s cubicles.

“This is the second time we have helped this organisation; the focus for this year is mainly on baby rooms.

“We want to make the kids feel loved and special.”

Other refurbishments made possible by Ackermans included new flooring in the nursery and improving the conditions of the toilet cubicles.

Pastor Paul Myers said New Beginnings, which houses more than a 1 000 destitute people, is also in need of more blankets for winter.

“Ackermans’ donation is really wonderful; seeing the children’s faces light up is just priceless,” he added. – @NalediBoksburg
