Two armed gangs of thugs steal vehicles, clean out a house

Police are searching for two gangs of robbers who robbed two families inside their homes in two separate incidents, on Sunday, June 7.

According to Boksburg SAPS’ Lieut Col Khumbulani Ndaba, a gang of five men – three of them armed with firearms – entered a house in Aries Road, Sunward Park at about 1.40pm and stole two cars, a Mercedes Benz worth R370 000 as well as a Mazda.

The thugs found the victim in the yard, before they forced him into the bathroom of his house and locked him inside.

“The vehicles were later found on that day found abandoned Tsakani,” said Ndaba.

About 20 minutes later, a gang of three armed men entered a house on the same street and robbed the family of R69 098 worth of household goods.

The complainant told police that he was busy cleaning the yard when three men confronted him and then forced him and his children into the bathroom. They were tied up while the thugs ransacked the house.

The stolen goods included a computer tower, Samsung Plasma TV set, phone, PlayStation and other items.

Ndaba said that the gang turned the house upside down and the family is still in shock. It is, however, unclear how the trio got away with the loot.

The eight suspects are still at large.
