Home-invading thief stabs three family members

Three family members were taken to hospital after a thief armed with a knife attacked them in their Sunward Park home, in the early hours of Saturday morning, May 23.

According to a Boksburg SAPS report, the complainant told police that she and her family members woke up to find someone armed with a knife inside the house.

A struggle ensued between the intruder and the family.

The complainant, who was left unharmed during the ordeal, said her mother, her uncle and her son were stabbed during the struggle.

The thief also sustained stab injuries during the struggle, but he managed to flee the scene with the family’s Plasma TV set and a cellphone.

The injured family members were taken to hospital for treatment.

The thief is described as a black male with dreadlocks, and is in his early 20s.

A bag belonging to the suspect was also found on the scene.

Inside the bag, police found a monkey wrench, screwdriver, corned meat and poison (apparently used for poisoning dogs).

Investigations are ongoing.
