“The man, according to some of the residents, was caught burglarising houses, which led to the community taking the law into their own hands,” said Dawn Park police spokesperson Capt Charles Tshabalala.
“He was tied up, petrol was poured over his body and then set alight. He died on the scene.”
No one has been arrested yet.
The body of the deceased is at the Germiston Mortuary and the police are seeking help in finding his family, so that burial arrangements can be made.
