Shocked grandmother speaks on stabbing of 5-year-old child
The grandmother of Aliandro Pugi, the 5-year-old child who was stabbed in the stomach during the Trichardts Road hijack drama, said the family was shocked by the incident.
Speaking to the Advertiser on May 19, Magda Pugi said though Aliandro is doing well in hospital, the incident left them shocked, traumatised and upset.
“We are working through it; we are a close family and we are working together to pull through the pain – right now we are also doing well,” said Magda, who was on her way to visit Aliandro at the Union Hospital.
She said the doctor is also happy with her grandson’s recovery.
“We are grateful for the support we received from all, including the Sunward Hospital, the Union Hospital and Altech Netstar,” said Magda.
She hoped police investigation will lead to the arrest of the perpetrator.
