N12 attack: Suspect taken in for questioning

A suspect has been brought in for questioning in connection with the brick throwing incident on the N12.

Parkrand resident Darrell Badenhorst was traveling on the N12 from Johannesburg to the East on Thursday afternoon (April 30) when a passenger in his car – Marionette Schwab (42) – was hit with a brick.

According to the Southern Courier, sister newspaper of the Advertiser, a man matching the description of the attacker was spotted throwing bricks onto Second Avenue in Alberton North on May 7 and was detained by SOG security personnel, he was transported to the Alberton SAPS for questioning.

The suspect has not been positively identified and family members of the victims are asking for the public’s help.

If you were on the highway on April 30 and saw the pedestrian on the side of the N12 throwing bricks, please contact your nearest police station.
