BREAKING NEWS: EMPD officers arrest 10 thugs in Witfield, seize 4 cars 

There was much activity as the EMPD Intervention Unit arrested a group of gangsters and seized four vehicles in the Witfield area this afternoon (April 8).

A total of 10 people believed to be part of a gang were nabbed at different spots in Witfield.
Two of the men were found wearing a metro police uniform.
The EMPD also seized four cars during the arrests, a silver Toyota corolla, a white Toyota Hilux, a silver Polo and a silver Toyota Etios.
“It is believed that they were planning to hijack a truck transporting goods, which was expected to travel through Boksburg,” said EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng.
An eight channel tracker signal jammer was also recovered in one of the cars.
It is not yet known if the cars have been stolen but all have been seized.
The EMPD said they were acting on a tip off and are is still searching for more suspects.
Although the men were not yet charged at the time of going to press, Mokheseng believed they will face conspiracy to commit a robbery charge while the other two will also face a separate charge of impersonating a police officer.
