Rotaract celebrates 47 years of service

The Rotary Organisation turned 110 years old on February 23 and its youth movement, Rotaract, turned 47.

Boksburg Lake Rotaract’s birthday was celebrated at Little Nero’s, on March 12.

The occasion was marked by the induction of six new members into the club.

According to a club member, Derek Fox, the Boksburg Lake Rotary Club also launched an Interact Club at Woodlands High School, with 130 of the learners having signed up to participate in this organisation.

Interact is for youngsters between the ages of 12 and 18, while Rotaract is for those who are between 18 and 30 years of age.

“The leadership training you get from being part of this organisation is unequalled,” said Fox.

Current members of Rotaract include a doctor, two engineers, a CA and business owners.

“If you have just left school and joined Rotaract, not only will you have the benefit of experience from these professionals, but you will have the support of and opportunity to engage with fellow Rotaractors from 133 countries around the world,” said Fox. – @IschkeBoksburg
