Mayor to focus on four year progress report at SOCA

Ekurhuleni Mayor Cllr Mondli Gungubele is expected to tell the people of Ekurhuleni and the rest of Gauteng how the city has performed on its mandate since 2011 when he delivers the State of the City Address on Wednesday, March 25.

Mayoral spokesman Zweli Dlamini said Gungubele will not only outline the City’s Programme of Action (PoA) but will also reflect on major achievements realised during the past four years.

This includes poverty, job creation, inequality, the Aerotropolis, infrastructure development and basic services such as water, sanitation and energy among others.

“The Mayor will deliver a report that will talk to all our people. It will speak to business people, the middle class, high class, informal settlements dwellers, the young and the old.

“There will also be a strong element of economics because we remain determined to revive our manufacturing sector and expose new opportunities that come with our economic growth trajectory – the Aerotropolis.”

The road closures will be in effect on the mornings of March 23 and 24 between 8am until 2pm for rehearsals purposes. However, during the event on March 25, roads will be closed from 6am to 6pm.
