Metro’s task team to remove illegal posters
The Ekurhuleni Metro has designated personnel per region to drive around the streets to remove illegal posters on a daily basis.
This is according to metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
On February 7, members of DA Ward 32 volunteered to remove illegal posters on the corner of Trichardts Road and Commissioner Street, in the Boksburg CBD.
According to Marius de Vos, Ward 32 DA branch chairperson, all sorts of illegal adverts and pamphlets were removed.
“The branch resolved, at its AGM, in October, last year, to not only moan about service delivery matters, but to do something practical about it,” he said.
“Members of the community, across the racial divide, have also filled out a petition calling on the metro and law enforcement agencies to crack the whip on the bogus doctors offering lethal abortions and penis enlargement procedures in small, filthy, dark rooms around town.” – @NalediBoksburg
