Forbes due back in court in April

David Forbes (48), the promoter and owner of the popular Boksburg's H2O parties and a consultant to the Ultra Music Festival SA, will return to court on April 23.

Forbes, who is also the co-owner of Nicci Beach in Boksburg, was arrested last month on suspicion of murdering Toefieq Joseph, who was shot dead in the parking lot of the Engen garage, in Orange Street, Cape Town CBD.

The prominent businessman appeared in court on February 2, where his case was postponed to April for further investigation.

Forbes claimed Joseph threatened him and that he shot him in self-defence.

During a previous court proceeding, the Cape Town Magistrates Court ruled that releasing Forbes on bail was not in the interest of justice.

His lawyers then approached the Western Cape High Court to appeal the ruling, where Forbes was eventually released on R20 000 bail. – @FanieBoksburg
