Motorcycle club in high gear to aid charity

Boksburg's Committed Motorcycle Club is a non-profit organisation and charity-driven.

The members assist in a lot of cases where this is needed.

“In January, we helped young Jacques Thysse with a wheelchair, after he lost his leg in a serious motorcycle accident; we did this so that he could become mobile,” said Natasha Kruger, from the club.

In October last year, the club collected R35 000 to help Stephen Nel with a new prosthetic leg.

Nel lost his leg a few years back, in a freak accident, when he fell into a empty swimming pool.

“The leg he had was too big and we assisted in raising the funds needed for a new leg, so he could have a better quality of life,” said Kruger.

Kruger added that the club is asking the community for donations of nonperishable foods, toiletries and clothing, to assist with a new, big charity event they are planning.

Anyone willing to assist may contact Johnny Nel, president of the club, on 082 930 1650, or Natasha on 079 382 7154.
