Drug dealer caught selling from vehicle trunk

The EMPD arrested a drug dealer operating from the trunk of his vehicle, on January 10.

This followed an incident, last week, when a Nigerian man was arrested with drugs worth R120 000.

On Saturday, at around 1.20pm, a 45-year-old Nigerian national dealing in drugs from his parked black Tata sedan was detained by the EMDP.

“He was found with drugs valued at R6 000,” said EMPD media liaison officer Inspector Kobeli Mokheseng.

EMPD officers from the Crime Prevention Task Team, patrolling the Boksburg North area, were stopped and approached by members of the public, who raised concerns about a man in a black Tata selling illegal goods from the open trunk of his car.

“Officers paid him a visit and a half moon rock of cocaine and 24 packets of Cat were found following a search,” said Mokheseng.

The man was charged at the Boksburg North SAPS, with possession and dealing in illegal substances.

He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrates Court soon.
