Hospitals welcome new year babies
Several mothers celebrated the new year by welcoming newborns into the world.
According to Dr Avis Naidoo, Tambo Memorial Hospital CEO, eight babies were born at the hospital on January 1.
The first was Kabelo Malope who was born at 2:10am. She was later joined by seven other newborn babies during the day.
At Sunward Park Hospital, Ntombifuthi Qashane is the only mother who gave birth on New Years Day. Her baby Yandisa was born at 9.45 am.
