Zuma addresses  Reiger Park community

President Jacob Zuma addressed the community of Reiger Park today at the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children launch at the W.J Clements Stadium.

He spoke about what steps the government will take to address violence against women and children.

Later on during the day he will sign a pledge.

Gauteng Premier David Makhura, Ekurhuleni mayor Mondli Gungubele and  Minister of Women in the Presidency, Susan Shabangu,  will also address the public.

The crowd will be entertained by jazz musician Selaelo Selota.

The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children is an international campaign observed from November 25 to December 10 to raise awareness of the negative impact that violence has on women, children and society.

This year’s campaign will be held under the theme “Count Me In. Together moving a non-violent South Africa forward”.
