Win tickets to the circus

Mclaren Circus will be in Boksburg with another show from November 18 to 23, set up at the corner of Chen and Sydney roads.

This year, the circus will feature acts such as the amazing Regan on his Spanish rope, Li Qi direct from China with her brilliant unicycle and cube balancing, as well as acrobatics by the Velocity Boys.

Then there is also the impressive mouth balancing by Miss Xiao Ya, along with the juggling skills of Australia’s Jansen Grant.

To keep the crowds entertained will be resident clowns – Alick and Chakalaka – while beautiful animals such as Bengal tigers, the African lioness, perky poodles, Arabian camels, miniature horses, ponies, Friesian horses and Burmese pythons will be on display.

Shows will be daily at 3pm and 7.30pm.

* Five readers stand a chance of winning five double ringside tickets for Thursday, November 20, at 7.30pm.

To enter, simply answer the question: What is the name of the circus that is coming to town?

Along with your answer, SMS the keyword “Circus” and your name to 35718.

Entrants must live in Boksburg to be eligible for entry. Both competitions close on November 19 at 11am.

Winners will be contacted telephonically. SMSes are charged at R1.50. – @IschkeBoksburg

  1. Is Riaan Engelbrecht hoping for the anti-animal activists to attack this business again on a Caxton community newspaper page? This highly reputable traditional travel circus and other such animal related businesses were attacked on such Caxton local newspaper blogs by Ban Animal Trading (BAT) over the past five weeks. BAT failed on Benoni City Times and Kempton Express blogs to halt or ruin McLaren Circus and other related businesses including a few East Rand pet shops. Well BAT and other extremists have not got it right for hundreds of years now and it is getting monotonous.!!! BAT and whoever can say what they like here and argue until they blue in the face. I will still see the circus lovers and goers at the Spectacular Show in Boksburg next week!I won free ringside tickets via Kempton Express. All the animal related shows such as agricultural, daily horse racing meetings, etc must go on! Do not believe everything you read in the newspapers or Sam Low and her followers from BAT. Locals please do come see for yourself at the circus site at the K90 Centre in Sydney Road as from Tuesday 18 November to Sunday 23 November! Thank you very much!!!

  2. I do not need those free ringside tickets handouts because I have booked 20 tickets for all of my family and employees to attend the Thursday night show.
