Wax up those moustaches for Motorcade 2014!

Slap on some aftershave, wax up those moustaches and get ready to ride in support of men’s health and cancer awareness in the motorcade on Saturday, N(M)ovember 1.

Local initiative, Snors for a Cause Motorcade 2014, aims to raise awareness and funds for men’s health and cancer.

More Balls Than Most is the initiatives’ 2014 partner and donation beneficiary.

Brother of Pink Drive, More Balls Than Most, is dedicated to promoting awareness of the importance of early detection of prostate and testicular cancer.

Snors for a Cause Motorcade 2014, together with More Balls Than Most, is inviting all South Africans riding on two or three wheels to unite, change the face of men’s health and make a difference in support of men’s health.

All motorcycle riders – Harley’s, pit bikes, superbikes, cruisers, trikes, scooters and pillions – are encouraged to join the parades taking place in 10 regions nationally Saturday.

Boksburg motorcycle riders wanting to take part in the parade should meet at Gold Rand Harley Davidson in North Rand Road, at 9am.

Departure time is 10.30am.

This charitable ride is set to be a first in South Africa.

According to Cansa, prostate cancer is the most common cancer among South African men with a one in 26 lifetime risk to develop it.

The number of prostate cancer cases is also steadily increasing, because of longer lifespan and a more westernised lifestyle.

Testicular cancer on the other hand is one of the most common cancers in young men aged between 15 and 39.

“With Snors for a Cause Motorcade 2014 we are encouraging awareness and urging family, friends, colleagues and associates to get tested early,” says Trisch Rosema from More Balls Than Most.

“In the past two decades most men have survived prostate cancer and a continual diagnosis and early treatment can have an even bigger impact.”

Anyone can join the motorcade and there is no registration fee.

Participants who want to make a donation towards the cause may purchase a limited edition Snors for a Cause buff for R130 on Harley-Davidson Africa’s Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/HarleyDavidsonAfrica.

A limited number of pins will be made available to participating riders.

“We are grateful to have the support of Harley-Davidson Africa who have committed to a minimum donation of R50 000 for the fight against cancer in men,” says Rosema.

“This donation will be used for much needed education. The more awareness we can create and the more funds raised, we can tackle the testicular and prostate cancer issue head on to prevent cancer.” – @IschkeBoksburg
