Hospital bathroom facilities get a makeover

The toilet facilities at the Tambo Memorial Hospital recently underwent a revamp to make it more appealing to patients and visitors.

The Advertiser previously reported on complaints from the community on the unhygienic state of the toilets.

Dr Avis Naidoo, CEO of the hospital, says that they are appealing to everyone to assist in making sure the facilities remain clean.

“One of our biggest challenges is that community members do not clean up after themselves. Some even go as far as to steal the taps and toilet seats,” says Naidoo.

He requests that the community respect their facilities and take ownership of their actions.

The hospital is in the process of revamping difefrent sections, thus the community is asked to keep this in mind when visiting the premises. – @CarmenBoksburg

  1. I was admitted on the 30/10/2014 in ward 9 and the bathroom and toilet facility is still shocking! 1 bath and 2 toilets shared between 20 odd patience’s where the bath drain is blocked and basin is out of order, the 1 toilet doesn’t have running water so we had to use a bucket of water to flush and the other 1 had water running all the time so you cant flush. Very disgusted with the hospital and not to mention the bed service and traumatic experience I had to endure!!
