Your blood help critically ill cancer patients

Heroes and heroines flocked to the Boksburg Round Table Club House to donate a pint of blood to save lives, on Saturday, October 11.

The Boksburg Round Table 17 blood drive is in conjunction with The Sunflower Fund and the South African Bone Marrow Registry.

The Sunflower Fund says its aim is to educate and recruit a viable source of well-informed potential bone-marrow stem cell donors, who are ethnically diverse, in an effort to save the lives of those suffering from life-threatening blood disorders.

Donating a unit of this ‘precious gift of life’ can save up to three lives of those patients in dire need of blood.

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) says that by becoming a regular blood donor, this ensures that the safety of blood is maintained and makes it possible for SANBS to collect sufficient, safe blood, to meet the demand.
