Metro workers damage property

A huge amount of damage, resulting from an ongoing sewer spillage and the metro contractors attempt to repair a damaged sewer pipeline, was caused to the property of a Witfield resident.

After two months of struggling and receiving four reference numbers, the sewer pipeline causing an unhygienic sewer spillage on the property of Ahmed Abdulla, was eventually been repaired on September 3.

This is according to the Ekurhuleni metro spokesperson, Themba Gadebe.

It’s been confirmed by Abdulla.

However, according to Abdulla, damage was already caused to his property.

“Workers did not clean up the property and left it in a terrible state. My paving is messed up completely while I don’t even have a garden anymore.”

He says workers broke his precast wall while pulling out the slabs, and at the same time ripped off his electric fence.

Abdulla was told that the workers would return to clean and fix up his place, but have never heard a word about it again. – @IschkeBoksburg
