The money collected will be donated to the Sunflower Fund, which invests in research in childhood cancer. They also assist children with different issues during their cancer battle.
One of these issues is the bone marrow transplant.
The Boksburg 17 Round Table is a NPO that raises funds through various projects.
“This year Boksburg 17 have decided to go bigger than last year, where we sold 1 376 bandana’s to raise funds to the amount of R34 400,” says Heindrich Schulze, a member of the Boksburg 17 Round Table.
“We would like to make this National Bandana Day a day to remember.”
Schulze invites schools in Boksburg to also join in and help in making a difference.
Bandanas will also be sold at the following venues:
n K90 Centre on Spring Day (August 30) from 9am to 1pm
n Gold Rand Harley Dealership on September 27 from 9am to noon.
“We will also be selling bandanas to the public through orders and they will be delivered to your door,” says Schulze.
