According Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, two men walked into the store, one asked for a Russian, and the other sat next to the entrance.
“Another man came in and pointed his firearm at the store owner, he forced the complainant into the kitchen where he searched him and took his money,” says Lieut Coetzer.
She said the sector vehicle, with Const Sabelo Nhlozi and Const Mluleki Jozana, passed the shop and they started chasing the suspect with the firearm.
“The suspect was then wounded in his right thigh.
“He was taken to Tembisa Hospital for treatment.”
The constables recovered the suspect’s firearm, a 7.65mm pistol with the serial number filed off.
