Teenagers rob cyclist of his ride

A man was confronted by armed teenagers, who robbed him of his bicycle, two cellphones and R200 in cash, on August 16.

“The victim was riding through the intersection of Middle and Rondebult roads when he was accosted by two of the men, who forcibly robbed him at knife-point,” says EMPD spokesperson Wilfred Kgasago.

Fortunately for the victim, two members of the EMPD’s Public Order Policing were nearby, and managed to detain two of the three perpetrators; the bicycle was recovered.

“Unfortunately, the one culprit, who had the cellphones and cash, managed to elude the Metro Police officers.

“The pair, whose ages are 16 and 18, were arrested and booked at the Reiger Park Police Station, for robbery and possession of stolen property.”

They are expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrates Court soon. – @CarmenBoksburg
