Three learners injured in bus accident

Three learners and a bus driver were injured during an accident in Vosloorus on July 29.

According to Kobeli Mokheseng, spokesperson for the EMPD, the accident occurred at 6.45am when the bus, travelling from Vosloorus to Reiger Park, lost control and crashed into a brick wall.

The 27-year-old driver and three learners, aged between seven and 12, were transported to the Natalspruit hospital for medical treatment.

“The rest of the passengers were unharmed but, were taken in for observations,” he says.

Mokheseng adds that it is not clear at this stage what actually caused the accident but preliminary investigation reveals that somehow fatigue played a role because there were no visible brake skid marks on the road surface before the minibus drove straight into the wall that fences a house.

“There were no reports of another motor vehicle involved at the time of submitting this statement.

“The actual cause of the accident will be investigated by the EMPD Accident Reconstruction Unit, and the case of reckless or negligent driving has been registered at the Vosloorus police station,” Mokheseng says. – @CarmenBoksburg
