Round Table needs your help this Mandela Day

For the last 10 years the Gauteng Round Table has been hosting their annual White Christmas function and this year again need contributions to give each child attending toys on the day.

In order to make early preparations for such an event, and in commemorating Mandela Day, the Round Table is asking for help in the form of donations of toys, old or new or by deposits of R6.70, R67, or R6 767 into their bank account.

White Christmas is a function that takes place at the beginning of December every year, and is a Christmas party for over 2500 underprivileged children.

“On this special day, the Round Table provides sweets, cold drinks, biscuits, lunch, toys, entertainment, face painting and loads of other goodies to make this day a really memorable one,” says David Costine from the Round Table.

“It is one of the best hands on project that Round Table is involved in. Each club is assigned a specific task, from sorting of toys, preparing food, handing out food, manning the jumping castles, foam machines and all the other requirements that come with running a Christmas Party.

“It is a task that takes about 100 people the entire day to complete,” he further explains.

Costine says that a week before the event, the Round Table participates in another event to assist in obtaining toys for their White Christmas.

“Unfortunately it is never enough toys and we rely on the generosity of our friends and family to obtain the shortfall of toys. This year we are preparing early and on Mandela Day, we are asking you to help by making a deposit into the Round Table bank account, where we can use the money to purchase toys from a supplier that we get a discount from.”

Toys needed are for boys and girls aged five to 12.

Banking details are as follows:

Round Table Gauteng Area

Bank: FNB

Account number: 62080071972

“We need your help this year to make this a very special Christmas for some very special children. Sponsors will be able to do marketing throughout the day at the event.”
