Unidentified body receives a face

The decomposed body of a woman, found dead in 2011, has been given a reconstructed face in order to ascertain identification.

According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, the body was found in a manhole, in Leith Road, on June 6.

“Possible parts of a jersey or woolly jacket, a bra, a pair of woman’s underwear, parts of a blouse and a size five shoe were also found at the scene.”

She adds that the estimation is that the body might have ended up in the manhole between March and April of 2011.

“Evidence shows that the victim was shot in the head.”

A murder case is now being investigated by the Boksburg North SAPS.

She adds that a facial reconstruction was performed as the body has yet to be identified.

Anyone with any information is requested to phone the investigating officer, W/O Manie du Preez, on 011 306 0000.
