Celebrating 100 years of living in the East Rand

Birthday girl Suzie Le Roux celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday, May 24, at the NG Kerk in Boksburg South.

Le Roux has three surviving children, 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Le Roux has lived all her life in the East Rand.

She spent 74 years in Germiston, 17 years in Alberton, and nine years in Brakpan.

She is currently residing in an old age home in Benoni.

Seventy family members and extended family members attended the event to wish Le Roux a happy birthday.

Le Roux never thought she would reach this age as all her family members never lived past the age of 72 years.

“I believe in God and have always lived for my family. I am thankful for all my family members,” and this Le Roux says is the secret to longevity.
