Developed foetus found abandoned in plastic bag

A well-developed female foetus still covered in the amniotic sac, and allegedly seven-months-old was found on the corner of Aquarius and Kingfisher Road, on the fence of Sunward Park Hospital on Monday morning, May 26.

Lesego Ntsana (28) discovered the bag carrying the body at around 08:25am.

“I saw the bag while buying vetkoeks from the lady on the corner, and it looked suspicious. Everyone was afraid to open the bag, and I took a stick and opened it. That’s when I saw blood and a head.

“There were also bloodied sanitary towels,” says Ntsana.

Ntsana says she would just like the culprit to be found so she can pay.

Boksburg Police spokesperson Lieut Mathanda Ngobese says police are still investigating the incident and urges the public to come forward with any information that can assist.

Ngobese says the mother can only be charged with concealment of birth and not murder, as there is no proof that the foetus was born alive.
