According to Lieut Juanita Coetzer, communications officer for the Boksburg North SAPS, he was stopped by the SAPS and a community patroller from Sector One.
“When questioned, he produced an electric drill the he had ‘borrowed’ from a resident in Impala Park,” says Coetzer.
She adds that a case of theft under false pretenses was opened.
The man appeared in the Boksburg Magistrates Court on April 29. At the time of going to print, the outcome was not known yet.
Just in case the man is released, “the community is urged to be on the lookout for this man, as he pretends to be a neighbour in the area and targets elderly people.”
