Much needed donation for the elderly

The Grateful Drive Team donated toiletries and handed out chocolates to 230 elderly people at Cosmos Old Age Home in Van Dyk Park on Saturday, April 26.

According to the organiser, Crystal Schwartz, the Grateful Drive Team holds different charity drives every three months.

“This was our toiletry drive, and we managed to donate toiletries worth over R10 000 to the old age home,” says Schwartz.

Schwartz says the organisation has been running for two years, and is made up of a group of approximately 30 volunteers that independently go around helping those in need.

“We would like to appeal to our friends and family, and anyone who would like to assist, by collecting various goods and handing them to people in need,” she says.

Schwartz thanks the Lions Club for their donation of R5 000 towards the toiletry drive.

“We would also like to appeal to those who want to get involved to contact us and suggest what our next drive should be.”

Those who would like to volunteer or make a donation may contact Schwartz on 081 558 6374.
