* Leagan Linden (27), from Reiger Park, appeared in court on a charge of house break-in with the intent to steal.

He pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on April 14, to seven years imprisonment of which two years were suspended for five years.

On February 4, the accused broke into the home of Calvin Mphaphuli and stole two refrigerator motors and a fan.

He had a previous conviction of house break-in from February 2007.

Magistrate Ramufhufhi presided over the matter, and Nokosazana Tyeku appeared on behalf of the State.

*Sibusiso Mothung (19), from Vosloorus, appeared in court on a charge of house break-in with the intent to steal.

He pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on April 16, to eight years imprisonment.

On March 7, the accused broke into the home of Paul Buhadi and stole a plasma television.

He had previous convictions of house break-in in February 2010 and May 2010, as well as a conviction of possession of suspected stolen property in May 2010.

Magistrate Sijren Harichand presided over the matter, and Vuthlari Mulungwa appeared on behalf of the State.

* Leon Mlaba (36), from Vosloorus, appeared in court on a charge of theft.

He pleaded guilty, was found guilty, on March 26, and sentenced on April 16, to three years imprisonment.

On March 1, the accused stole R2 500 belonging to Thabo Simons.

He had previous convictions of theft from May 2009, December 2009 and October 2012.

Magistrate Jurg Viviers presided over the matter, and Khato Ranwedzi appeared on behalf of the State.

* Lindo Khule Mtsali, from Vosloorus, appeared in court on a charge of theft.

He pleaded guilty and was found guilty on April 1, and sentenced on April 15, to R3 000 or nine months imprisonment suspended for five years.

On March 11, the accused stole a bag containing a pair of shoes and two duvet sets belonging to Mthunzi Ndluli.

* Joseph Malibane (44), from Jet Park, appeared in court on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and sentenced on April 15, to eight months imprisonment suspended for five years.

On June 13, 1013, the accused assaulted Jan Makeke by hitting him with an iron rod.

Magistrate Ryan van Harte presided over the matter, and Busi Mofokeng appeared on behalf of the State.
