Work to restore power supply still ongoing

Residents in Brakpan and Boksburg have been experiencing unplanned power outages, which the municipality says is due to faulty cables.

Acting metro spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, says the municipality is working hard to restore the power supply.

“In Brakpan, only Dalpark Extension 13 residents have been affected by power supply interruption since 8am this morning. Power is expected to be back around 7pm,” says Gadebe.

“Metro’s engineers are working to restore power supply in Impala Park, Boksburg. The area has been without power since yesterday (March 11) around 6pm.

“Engineers expect the power to be fully restored by 3pm.”

Residents are urged to treat all electrical networks and equipment as electrically alive.
