Backyard covered in sewerage resolved
A frustrated Parkrand resident contacted the Advertiser, following numerous failed attempts by municipality to resolve her sewer problem.
The resident, known to the Advertiser, had her home infested with flies from the sewerage that was covering her backyard, causing both a stench and awful sight to look at.
“When I report the problem, municipal workers fix it and shortly afterwards the drain then overflows again; I really can’t live like this,” she said.
The resident says workers informed her that the pump station was broken and this is what was causing the drainage problems.
Municipality has confirmed that the nearby sewer pump station had failed after a cable fault, but says the problem has been attended to and the station is now fully operational.
